This is ‘yut’ (엿) -well, technically this version is called ‘mool-yut’ (물엿: ‘water-yut’), the liquid version. Yut is made of rice and barley malt, and it is the most common traditional confectionary available in Korea. There are two types of yut: solid or liquid but the flavour and texture for both are very sweet and super sticky.
.
The Korean phrase ‘yut muk uh’ (eat yut) is used as an insult meaning ‘eat yut and lose your teeth (because yut sticks to your teeth)’. 😂😢🦷
Have Some Yut!
