The Koreans were the last of the 3 Eastern Asian countries, behind China and Japan, to adapt gunpowder technology and the following developments of the musket. It affected warfare greatly as successful Japanese invasions usually meant they were in a weapons disadvantage. After Ming forces helped force the Japanese back in 1598, Korea started to take foreign weapons research more seriously, learning the manufacturing and training troops with new world weapons.
