In Kazakhstan, I learned that the average Kazakh horse is never broken into. The rider must present himself to the horse first and be accepted by it before attempting to ride. The Kazakhs believe in respect between the rider and the horse, and if the horse does not respect the rider, it will kick the rider off or not move. This is a photo of a stable horse in Bella Coola, March, 2020.
